Zoom Host Mute and Unmute
Interactive Microlearning and Job Aid

Experience the eLearning

Problem

Hybrid and virtual church services on Zoom require volunteers to admit and greet members and visitors as well as to prevent and mitigate potential disruptions from Zoom bombers. Because of a reorganization of our A/V team, this responsibility shifted to our virtual ushers, who needed to learn the skill quickly.

Product

This microlearning focuses on one skill for meeting hosts: muting and unmuting other participants. It can be completed in roughly 5 mins, allowing volunteers to gain the necessary skill without having to set aside a large chunk of time. The microlearning will also become one element of a comprehensive training for new ushers, which can also serve as a reference for our current team.

This training also offers flexibility. Learners are first introduced to the goal and rationale, and a software simulation at the end allows them to test their skill. Learners have the option to watch a screencast demonstration or jump straight to the simulation if they think they're ready. They can also download a printable summary from the resources tab for later use.
