About Me

"What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." -Jane Goodall
Head shot of me walking along a brick and concrete path lined with trees and flower gardens. I have a light brown pixie cut and dangly teardrop earings.

I know this is the About Me page, but when it comes to designing good lessons, it's not about me. It's about We. The most effective learning experiences come from meaningful exchanges among learners, designers, facilitators, and other stakeholders. Through 14 years of classroom teaching, I learned every day, from my students, their families, colleagues, and community experts. Because of this, we were constantly able to improve. I enjoy developing creative lessons that meet learners where they are and engage them in their world in a new way.

So why instructional design? Because technology is fun! By my final year of teaching, I taught all my courses via blended learning, improving student collaboration and stakeholder communication, as well as giving learners more flexibility and allowing me to provide better feedback. Now I want to combine my passion for learning with my love of technology in a new way, and transition into designing eLearning experiences.
